Most people use a certain kind of packaging when they’re going to ship out items to ensure that a product stays upright and in the proper position before you even open it up. Choosing the right packaging products protects it from dirt, water damage, and even jarring it about in the event that it’s not properly handled. Cardboard Packaging
Corrugated carboard is literally one of the most common types of packaging out there and it’s one that we’re familiar with. This comes with several paper layers, and an internal fluted paper rolls in order to offer both protection, and strength as well.
The more layers, the stronger it is. This is considered one of the most versatile means, and this one is good if you just want a good, basic packaging supply for anything, although if you’re shipping small stuff you don’t need this.
Mailers and Envelopes
They come in a variety of different functions and styles, with the standard envelopes offering protection against different elements, in order to keep the contents inside of it safe. This is usually used for letters and other paper elements, and they don’t provide a lot of protection. There are also rigid mailers, which are stiffened kinds of cardboard that offer protection for documents, photographs, and other materials that stay flat until they’re opened up. They don’t do well with materials that are bulkier or odd shaped, but otherwise it might be good.
There are also bubble mailers, which are used to help protect the package from different drops and shocks, and they work well. The biggest downside is that if you’re looking for a green focus, this doesn’t offer much in that department.
Chipboard
Chipboard is another popular form of packaging for those who are interested in packaging. This is used for cereal and other grocery items. While you won’t be able to use this for anything that’s heavy and breakable, it can handle the freight that’s lighter with much ease.
It also offer a very interesting opportunity for branding, since it lets you create great graphics that can be used as well to offer an interesting and exciting feeling, making the unboxing process a whole lot better.
It’s also recyclable and sustainable, so it’s definitely a type of product worth considering.
Poly Mailers
These are envelopes that are self-sealing with a lip that’s adhesive and can be folded over itself. They are good because they’re small, don’t take up room in the vehicle, and also provide a chance for proper advertisement. Many items can survive trips in this, but some of the more delicate items will need padding to make sure it’s taken care of. You can actually reuse these multiple times, so good for saving sme money.
Internal packaging
Finally, there is the internal part of the packaging. While this is good for some people, not every product needs this. But you can use foam packaging as a safe and cheap way to transport items, and usually, you can fold the items in sheets and put them on a cardboard box that’s corrugated. The problem is though that foam isn’t really recyclable.
Styrofoam is another option, and so are wood chips and also kraft paper, the final one being one of the most recyclable out there. Regardless of what you choose to use, and the different kinds of packaging there are out there, there’s a ton of different ways to ship a package.
